Supporting Jewish Campus Life
On college campuses throughout the greater New York area, UJA-Federation of New York supports programs that help students make an enduring connection to their heritage, at a critical stage in their lives.
Through its support, UJA-Federation helps provide unprecedented levels of service to students throughout the state and globally.
The Challenge of Preserving a Strong Jewish Future
- Each year, more than 65,000 Jewish students attend a college or university in New York State.
- 23 percent of all Jews in the eight-county New York area are intermarried, according to UJA-Federation of New York’s Jewish Community Study of New York: 2002.
UJA-Federation’s Response
We provide essential support to our network of beneficiary agencies and grantees to help Jewish students explore their values and traditions.
Last year, our collective impact helped provide:
- Jewish community programming for 15,000 students on college campuses in the greater New York area.
- $1.4 million to 12 local Hillels.
