When you establish an endowment fund at UJA-Federation, you create a lasting, secure method of supporting the causes you care about, during your lifetime and beyond. The name you choose for your fund — perhaps in honor of a loved one — will endure as a permanent testimony to your commitment. With an array of available options, you can designate your endowment to your philanthropic passion and create a permanent, secure method of supporting the causes you care about.

Here are just a few ways to endow your gift.

• Create a Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment (PACE), to guarantee a yearly annual campaign gift.
• Establish a Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE), with a minimum gift of $150,000, to endow your annual campaign gift.
• Customize your endowment to support specific initiatives and programs at UJA-Federation.
• Fund any of UJA-Federation’s planned-giving options through an endowment.

Create a Lasting Tribute

Funds from endowments established with UJA-Federation supplement the funds raised each year by our annual campaign. By establishing an Endowment Fund, individuals help to create a permanent, secure method of supporting UJA-Federation. The name of the fund is placed on the Endowment Donors' Wall at UJA-Federation headquarters, memorializing in perpetuity the individual or family in whose name the fund was established.

Endowment Funds may be tailored to provide support for particular efforts of UJA-Federation. Some examples of the activities that designated Endowment Funds at UJA-Federation support are, scholarships at Jewish or other educational institutions, programs at Jewish community centers, cash grants to meet the essential needs of the Jewish poor in the New York metropolitan area, and the rescue and resettlement efforts in Israel and the former Soviet Union. These funds make a substantial difference in the lives of so many by preserving Jewish identity, caring for our most vulnerable populations, and bringing together individuals and institutions to work for the long-term vitality of our community.

One popular endowment option is the Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment (PACE). PACE is a permanent restricted fund dedicated to endowing your UJA-Federation annual campaign gift. UJA-Federation has also established two recognition societies associated with PACE: the Moses Society and Lion of Judah Endowment. The Moses Society encourages the creation of unrestricted endowments or Annual Campaign endowments. A Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) is a perpetual annual campaign endowment fund designated for the Women's Campaign.

All donors who create PACE gifts with a minimum contribution of $100,000 become members of our Moses Society. You can also establish a Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) — a PACE Fund created with a minimum contribution of $100,000 — to endow your Lion of Judah gift to the Women's Division of the annual campaign. Additional recognition in the national honor society is provided to donors for PACE or LOJE funds with a minimum of $200,000. Regardless of the size of your fund, its name will be placed on our Endowment Donors' Wall at our 59th Street headquarters, bringing perpetual honor to you and your family.
