Annual School Supply Drive Benefiting Disadvantaged Children Across Long Island

Are you looking for a bar or bat mitzvah project for your child, or just a heartwarming way to give back to our community? We've got the perfect way for you to roll up your sleeves, help those in need, and ensure that Jewish values are being passed on from generation to generation.

UJA-Federation of New York's ninth annual Connections Supplies for Success is working to ensure that children on Long Island return to school with the tools they need to succeed. Last year, we provided filled backpacks to more than 2,300 disadvantaged children. This year, we hope to help even more. With your help, families will not have to choose between bread and butter or paper and pens.

Make a difference by spearheading a local drive or by donating supplies so students can have a grade-A start. Please bring items from the following list:

  • Backpacks
  • Loose-leaf Binders
  • Loose-leaf Paper
  • One-, Three- & Five-subject Notebooks
  • Marble Notebooks
  • Pocket Folders
  • Book Covers
  • Pencil Cases
  • Crayons
  • Markers
  • Highlighters
  • Colored Pencils
  • Metric/U.S. Rulers
  • Scissors
  • Glue Sticks
  • Tape
  • Protractors

Surprise each child with an unwrapped gift to enjoy. This can be a school supply not found on the list or another small item. For extra credit, fill a new backpack and help our children make the grade.
