Emerging Leaders & Philanthropists

Join Emerging Leaders & Philanthropists (ELP), UJA-Federation of New York’s exciting and inspiring community for people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. We offer young and successful philanthropic individuals and couples the opportunity to participate in the incredible global endeavor of renewing and strengthening the Jewish community in New York and around the world.

Taglit-Birthright Israel Trips

Taglit-Birthright Israel, supported by UJA-Federation of New York,  funds first-time peer-group educational trips to Israel for young Jewish adults ages 18 to 26 who have not previously traveled to Israel on a peer educational trip or study program, nor lived in Israel past the age of 12. The gift covers round-trip airfare (from designated cities), hotels, transportation, most meals, and other associated land costs for the trip. Gratuities, personal purchases, and travel medical insurance are not included.

Through these trips, you'll get an insider's view of the Jewish homeland, enjoy visits to vibrant cities and historical sites, explore diverse and beautiful landscapes, and learn about Israel's culture. You'll also have the chance to travel with other emerging leaders and explore the special relationship between New York and Israel. This trip will allow you the opportunity to remain connected to your Jewish identity, your fellow travelers, and the crucial work of UJA-Federation after you return home.

Energizing Generation Now

By connecting people in the early stages of their philanthropic career with a sophisticated and influential network, UJA-Federation provides cutting-edge opportunities to wrestle with the critical issues of our day. We welcome individuals interested in fostering social change, connecting to community, traveling, volunteering, participating in think tanks, and celebrating with like-minded adults.

Young Professionals

We have the nerve to believe that, as Jews, we can and should help people in need across the globe. Thousands of New York's most successful and philanthropic young professionals agree. We’re already engaging young professionals from a wide spectrum of industries. UJA-Federation's communities for people under 45 include: Young Professional Women, Real Estate Executives (REX), Russian Leadership, Young Entertainment, Young Healthcare, Young Lawyers, and Young Wall Street.

Don't see your profession listed? We offer programs and opportunities for all young professionals interested in strengthening the Jewish community, helping others, and cultivating success. Send us your ideas.

Generosity

Generosity is New York’s premiere society for community-involved, socially conscious Jewish adults in their 20s and 30s. Through exclusive events, programs, and trips, we inspire future philanthropists to create positive, meaningful, and lasting change.

B.i.G (Build Hope. Inspire Change. Give Love.)

B.i.G (Build Hope. Inspire Change. Give Love.) is a new giving-recognition circle within UJA-Federation of New York that recognizes the generosity of New Yorkers in their 30s and 40s who support the organization with a gift of $3,600 or more to our Annual Campaign.

Young Couples & Families

In today's demanding world, we know it can be difficult to find meaningful time with your family. That's why UJA-Federation offers a wide range of programs for young families and couples. Learn more about events specifically for moms, opportunities for young couples to build community, and programs teaching families the importance of our mission.

Chai Society

Chai Society is the first step for recent graduates to get involved with UJA-Federation. Participants contribute $18 or more each month to UJA-Federation’s annual campaign.

Youth Philanthropy

It’s never too early to learn the lessons and rewards of philanthropy. We have a number of programs designed for teenagers and bar and bat mitzvah students. Jump-start your child’s entrance into the Jewish community with hands-on programs in New York and around the world.

Volunteer Opportunities

We provide you the opportunity to take a hands-on approach to make real change. Touch a life.

Given that UJA-Federation of New York is the world's largest local philanthropic organization, sometimes it’s hard for people to grasp how much we do to make a difference in the lives of so many. With our volunteer projects, we take you into our beneficiary agencies to give you a firsthand look at how UJA-Federation is helping those in need.

Find the Right Opportunity For You

Visit our volunteer center, and find projects for every age group and interest. We often have weekday-evening orientation sessions.

Pro Bono Consulting

Share your professional skills with our Management Assistance Program (MAP) to help organizations in our network of beneficiary agencies.

Observership Program

Take a more active role at UJA-Federation by attending important meetings at one of our beneficiary agencies or internal committees.
