Why a Woman’s Gift?
Throughout the generations, Jewish women have led the way in perpetuating our values and passionate commitment to tzedakah, acts of kindness and charity. By continuing this tradition through our involvement and philanthropic efforts, we affirm our responsibility for caring for those in need and guaranteeing a strong Jewish future. Annual gifts of any amount are welcome and appreciated as our collective power as women makes a profound impact on our local and global Jewish communities. We offer special events to women who make a gift at either the Flame of Friendship ($1,000 or more); Lion of Judah ($6,000 or more); or $10,000 Circle ($10,000 or more) levels. There is also the King David Society for donors of $25,000 or more.
UJA-Federation of New York’s Manhattan Women’s Philanthropy provides Manhattan women a way to be involved with the heart of the Jewish community and care for those in need in New York and in more than 70 other countries around the world. Families offers an exciting range of programs for families with newborn to school-age children, while Perspectives caters to women with school- to college-age children who would like to participate in intellectually stimulating programs. If you have a passion for new and innovative programs that include art, design, travel, and style while helping those in need, please join us at Innovations. If you are a vibrant, intellectual woman interested in exploring cultural New York or studying Torah, Connections can enrich your life on many levels. If you are interested in tikkun olam, there is a place for you in Manhattan Women’s Philanthropy. Whether it’s high-level briefings, holiday celebrations, Jewish learning series, art exhibits, author-led book groups, trunk shows, or fun family activities, we have many opportunities for people to come together while making a difference. In addition to our programs, we participate in several signature events in concert with overall Women’s Philanthropy. Some events require a minimum contribution to UJA-Federation’s annual campaign, while others are open to broader participation.
The Lion of Judah has always symbolized strength, honor, and dedication, and continues to reflect those values today. For many years, UJA-Federation’s Lion of Judah program has brought together women of all ages and from many walks of life to play an essential role in creating social justice, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, preserving human dignity, and building Jewish identity. The distinguished women who are Lions of Judah lead with their generosity, strength, and vision. Establishing a Lion of Judah Endowment perpetuates your commitment to caring for those in need. Your legacy helps secure a strong and vibrant Jewish community for generations to come.
If you have school- to college-age children and would like to participate in intellectually stimulating programs, such as innovative, cultural, and educational experiences, our Perspectives group welcomes your involvement and leadership.
