Share the joy of the holiday season by contributing your time to someone less fortunate. And, consider volunteering for projects that help New Yorkers still struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Volunteers (Food Prep and Service) (Good opportunity for groups)
Dates: Sunday, December 23, 2012 – Thursday January 3, 2013, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 pm. (kitchen prep) or 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. (serving). One-time commitment. Flexible date.
Location: Masbia, 1372 Coney Island Avenue (between avenues J and K), Brooklyn

Help the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty serve hot, kosher meals to needy clients at Masbia, the agency’s kosher, café-style soup kitchen. Volunteers, who must be at least 10 years of age, will prepare and package food, as well as set up and serve.

Volunteers (Food Servers)
Date: Sunday, December 23, 2012 – Thursday January 3, 2013, 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. One-time commitment. Flexible date.
Location: Masbia, 98-08 Queens Boulevard, Rego Park

Help the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty serve hot, kosher meals to needy clients at Masbia, the agency’s kosher, café-style soup kitchen. Volunteers will prepare and package food, set up for the event, and serve meals. Volunteers must be at least 10 years old.

Help the United Jewish Council of the East Side serve hot, kosher lunches to seniors. Volunteers are especially needed the week of December 24th. It is a great volunteer opportunity for groups, individuals, and families.

Volunteers (Winter Package Delivery)
Date: Sunday, January 13, 2013
Registration: Online registration begins on Thursday, December 20, 2012. All volunteers must register by Monday, January 7, 2013, at www.dorotusa.org.

Help DOROT celebrate the holiday season with seniors. Volunteers will visit with an older adult and deliver a package of winter treats.
