Part-Time Fundraising Associate, Telegiving (late afternoon/evening shifts)

Position Summary

The Telegiving fundraising associate conducts outbound telemarketing calls to donors and prospects in UJA Federation's designated calling area, working on multiple fundraising, prospecting, and engagement campaigns. Goals of these campaigns include relaying the organization's work and mission, soliciting pledges and credit card payments, increasing donor engagement and retention, and supporting events.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Solicit pledges using appropriate telemarketing techniques, capturing data to update donor and prospect information (including addresses, phone numbers, pledges, and comments) and making disposition calls
  • Ensure the use of proper scripting and donation ask levels to maximize donations while minimizing pledge denials
  • Work with supervisory team to test scripts, ask levels, targeting, and other elements to improve overall solicitation and communication techniques and maximize productivity
  • Conduct other types of calling as necessary, including in-bound solicitations, collections, confirmations, surveys, and welcome or thank-you calls
  • Work with other departments to assist with specialized fundraising and event campaigns
  • Assist in mentoring new callers, and assist other departments with solicitation training and fundraising as requested
  • Refer calls to appropriate departments as needed, and provide donor and prospect feedback to management
  • Achieve fundraising goals and ensure that other objectives and metrics are met
  • Adhere to call center regulations regarding attendance, timeliness, break times, conduct, procedures, and other rules
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and events as required
  • Maintain appropriate and necessary communication with all staff
  • Maintain familiarity with UJA-Federations mission, programs, policies, and procedures

Education and Experience

  • Minimum high school education required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Good listening and problem0solving skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Quick learner of scripts, programs, and processes
  • Able to learn and use computer systems and specialized software
  • Knowledge of Jewish terminology and traditions preferred
  • Call center experience preferred
