We are seeking a first year law student to assist the development staff of a high-functioning Department of Planned Giving and Endowments in a variety of assignments. As part of this work, the student may perform legal research and writing in the area of charitable planned giving, including research focused on the Internal Revenue Code sections and regulations governing charitable remainder trusts, supporting foundations, outright charitable gifts, gifts of tangible personal property, as well as research in New York State law in the areas of not-for-profit corporations and wills and trusts. Responsibilities may also include assignments in donor-relations and non-profit programming.
Requirements include the completion of only one year of law school (by Summer 2012) as well as excellent writing skills, an interest in non-profit work, and an ability to work as part of a team.
Date: June 2012 – August 2012
