Leadership Opportunities
UJA-Federation's leaders are shaping the future of our community. Participate in one of the opportunities below for a chance to make decisions that count, or browse our Volunteer and Leadership Resource Library to learn about leading the Jewish community.
Strategic Planning and Allocations Task Forces
UJA-Federation actualizes its mission through a strategic planning and allocations process we call our "commissions." The three mission-based commissions — Caring Commission, Commission on Jewish Identity and Renewal, and Commission on the Jewish People — are responsible for planning and developing a compelling vision for a caring, inspiring community. The Network Commission reviews, oversees, and adds capacity to our network of agencies, managing our relationships with them.

Network Agency Board Governance
Our network of more than 100 beneficiary agencies needs your leadership skills. Through a customized referral to one of our agency boards, you'll have the opportunity to influence, support, and make an impact on the current and future state of the Jewish community. Use your time, interests, and professional skills to help an agency further its mission.
Observership Program
The Observership Program provides young leaders and donors with an opportunity to experience the operations of board governance and strategic planning on one of UJA-Federation's affiliated agency boards or internal committees. Each participant, or "observer," is placed with an agency or internal UJA-Federation commission for one year. During that time, observers attend all board or committee meetings as nonvoting members, and learn about the principles and functions of nonprofit boards.
