Jake Lefkowitz’s Mitzvah Project

As I approach my bar mitzvah, I realize this is an opportunity to help others. In honor of this special occasion, I have decided to raise money and make a personal contribution to Etgarim, a special organization in Israel that facilitates the physical, emotional, and social rehabilitation of children, soldiers, and victims of terror through outdoor sports and recreational activities.

One of Etgarim’s most amazing programs is Back to Life for wounded soldiers and terror victims. The program consists of rope activities and other outdoor sports, such as cycling and sailing, and serves around 120 individuals each year. As many of you know, rock climbing is one of my favorite hobbies. The money I raise through this mitzvah project will be used to purchase new rock-climbing ropes, harnesses, helmets, and safety gear. When I visit Israel with my family and friends in October, we plan to visit Etgarim and go rock climbing with the participants so I can further understand the impact I have made in their lives and learn about how they overcome the challenge of their disabilities.

In lieu of gifts, I appreciate you making a tax-deductible donation to support this important organization. One hundred percent of your donation will go directly to benefit the rock-climbing program at Etgarim, and UJA-Federation will inform me that you have made a donation in honor of my bar mitzvah.

Thank you so much,
Jake
