Working with our primary beneficiary overseas organizations, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), UJA-Federation tackles the unique challenges facing the Jewish people in Israel and in 69 other countries.
Through these organizations, we offer life-saving services to Jews in poverty around the world, revitalize Jewish life throughout the former Soviet Union and Eastern and Central Europe, and empower the next generation to develop vibrant Jewish communities. We also work with our beneficiary overseas organizations to encourage Jews everywhere to connect to each other — and a thriving Jewish state.
In Israel, we’ve worked to build a strong Jewish nation, bringing more than 3 million people to Israel to establish new lives. Six decades later, we continue to work with our beneficiary overseas organizations, strengthening Jewish identity, pioneering programs for impoverished Israelis, helping minorities integrate more fully into Israeli life, and promoting tolerance among deeply divided secular and religious Jews.
Thanks to our beneficiary overseas organizations, we build strong, connected Jewish communities, bound by our common values and mutual concerns.
