Signature Bank Founder and Board Chairman Addresses 
UJA-Federation of New York’s Westchester Business And Professional Division at 2011 Chanukah Reception

WEST HARRISON, NY (December 21, 2011) — Scott Shay, founder and chairman of the board of directors at Signature Bank, spoke to members of UJA-Federation’s Westchester Business and Professional Division about growing an institution during a challenging economy.

The event took place at the division’s Chanukah Reception on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel in West Harrison, New York. The evening attracted more than 100 attendees, who came together to support the work of UJA-Federation, celebrate the holiday, and hear from Mr. Shay, who has been involved in the investment banking and venture capital industries since 1980 and has served as managing director of Ranieri Partners since 1988.

A board member of UJA-Federation and the American Hebrew Academy, Mr. Shay is also involved in Jewish community endeavors. He serves as chair of UJA-Federation’s New York Jewish Population Study Committee, as a member of the Birthright Israel Steering Committee, as president of Chai Mitzvah, and as chairman of the Lapid Advisory Board. Mr. Shay is author of Getting Our Groove Back: How to Energize American Jewry, which examines major obstacles facing American Jewry today.

Jamie Schwartz of Mount Kisco and Budd Wiesenberg of Mamaroneck served as chairs of the event. Mitchell Ostrove, a New Rochelle resident, and Judith Stern Rosen, a Purchase resident, are chairs of UJA-Federation’s Westchester Business and Professional Division.

Guests brought gifts to this event that will be distributed to the disadvantaged clients of the Metropolitan Council on Jewish poverty, a UJA-Federation beneficiary agency.
