UJA Support and help Israel, rebuilding communities in Israel
Homing — and Helping — Instincts

Since Israel's unilateral withdrawal from Gaza in August 2005, Sderot and the surrounding region has been subjected to ongoing attacks of Qassam rockets from Gaza, and the population has suffered numerous casualties and severe trauma. The escalation in fighting in recent days has turned our attention once again to this region. Learn more about how we're helping the residents of Sderot during this difficult time, and make a donation to our Sderot Fund.

In the aftermath of last year's war, tens of thousands of Israelis, many of them new immigrants, are rebuilding their lives and communities. The war's economic consequences are just beginning to be understood — early estimates are $2 billion, in the north alone. Your generosity to our Israel Emergency Campaign has helped us make a difference for all Israelis with on-the-ground assistance, small-business loans, and a commitment to rebuilding communal infrastructure. Becoming Part of Israel
Five young volunteers from the New York area, sponsored by UJA-Federation of New York, recently completed 10 months in Israel with Otzma, a service-oriented leadership program for Jewish young adults ages 20 to 26. Otzma participants live in Israel, learning Hebrew and volunteering, with many opportunities to personalize the program according to their own interests and skills. Read more.
