How to Apply For Financial Assistance
Looking for financial assistance for an Israel program? Apply directly to one of UJA-Federation's approved Israel programs for teens or young adults. The program you choose will assess your application and make a request to UJA-Federation on your behalf. Your program and UJA-Federation will let you know about the total of your needs-based award.

If you are in college or still claimed as a dependent, be sure to include your parents' 1040 and W-2 forms as part of the financial aid application you submit to your program. The Israel Experience Center Scholarship Committee will review your application and notify you of your award.

How to Apply for a Merit Award
High school students who are going into 10th, 11th, and 12th grades and show potential for leadership are eligible for merit awards in the amount of $1,250.

Students in New York, Nassau, and Suffolk are eligible for the Robert A. Belfer Family Fellowships and Chaverim Awards and must be nominated by a synagogue or UJA-Federation agency.

Westchester high school students are eligible for Singer Family Israel Awards and Chaverim Awards must be nominated by a UJA-Federation agency or Westchester synagogue.

Once you've been nominated, we'll ask you to submit an application including a personal essay about why you want to go to Israel and a description of a community service project (designed in conjunction with your sponsor) to be carried out in the year after you return from Israel. Award recipients are selected on the basis of leadership potential. The Israel Experience Center Scholarship Committee will review your application and notify you of your award.

Deadlines
For information regarding application deadlines, please contact your Israel program sponsor directly. Plan to submit a request for financial assistance and for a merit award at least two months prior to your departure.
