The Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC) is an alliance of trauma-related service providers working to improve the trauma-response capacity of the Israeli mental-health system.
Formally established and funded by UJA-Federation in 2002, after escalating and pervasive acts of terrorism in Israel, the ITC brings together Israeli experts and organizations to map services, identify gaps, assess the public health consequences of relentless terrorism on Jewish and Arab citizens, and develop a continuum of care to help build resiliency in the face of ongoing violence.
ITC, now comprising more than 40 organizations from an initial seven, is part of our effort to provide relief and support to children, Nazi victims, new émigrés, and others affected by terror. ITC's activities include:
- Community Stress Prevention Center, which operates neighborhood emergency teams, and the Taf Teken program, providing professionals who work with preschoolers with the skills to help children cope in emergency situations
- Israel Trauma Center for Victims of Terror and War (Natal), which provides workshops, lectures, and training for professionals and the general population and supports a mobile unit for house visits
