Strengthening Agencies
Grants
UJA-Federation funding enables more than 100 human-service, relief, educational, and community-building agencies to deliver services and invest in their ability to achieve a high level of success.
Each year, we allocate more than $130 million in grants to network agencies and other organizations, including a wide range of independent Jewish institutions and emerging Jewish organizations. This contributes greatly to the vitality of Jewish life in New York, in Israel, and around the world.
Supporting Agencies
We are also committed to helping beneficiary agencies increase their knowledge, power, and effectiveness through capacity-building support.
- To foster professional excellence in individuals, institutions, and systems, UJA-Federation offers agency staffers significant opportunities for professional development.
- The Volunteer and Leadership Development Division (VLDD) works to link lay leaders to activities and programs, educational opportunities, and leadership positions related to the work of UJA-Federation and our network of beneficiary agencies.
- Through our Management Assistance Program, pro bono consultants provide their services to network agencies that lack resources to solve a specific business, administrative, or managerial problem or need assistance to build their capabilities in business specialties.
- We help agencies secure additional funding by advocating for millions in government dollars on their behalf. Our capital development efforts also raise money directly for agencies.
- UJA-Federation's Network Greening Initiative is helping our beneficiary agencies "go green" and save money.
