Jewish groups on eight New York college campuses unveiled upgraded new websites this fall, made possible by a grant from UJA-Federation.
Chapters of a UJA-Federation beneficiary agency, Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, at Baruch, Binghamton, Brooklyn College, College of Staten Island, Hofstra, Hunter, Queens College, and Stony Brook are reporting a higher volume of web traffic because of design and navigational improvements to their sites. Funds were allocated by UJA-Federation’s Jewish Communal Network Commission, and included market research and then implementation of design and technical changes.
Joli Golden, a UJA-Federation task-force member active in the project, says it was a tight schedule, but everyone was “thrilled that the websites were …completed on time prior to students arriving on campus.” The sites now have more features and better organization.
Jill Mendelson, deputy managing director of the Network Commission, says, “We had the opportunity to be strategic” in allocating funds and could foster “closer relationships” among the Hillel chapters. ♦
