Connect to Care: A New Way to Work

Share by

In response to the economic collapse in 2008, UJA-Federation of New York took a position of leadership and responded by creating a bold new initiative called Connect to Care. Through the skillful planning of an experienced staff and the dedication of a determined leadership, this program engages and supports a newly threatened segment of our community — middle-income Jewish New Yorkers who are experiencing the worst of the recession.

UJA-Federation was able to quickly and effectively coordinate diverse services across an unprecedented network of agencies and synagogues. By galvanizing a full spectrum of communal resources this amazing new approach can serve as a model for an imaginative and exciting way we can all work together and demonstrates a powerful new process for building a caring community that only a federated system can offer.
