Gardening for Seniors Volunteers and Sponsors

Help the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty beautify outdoor spaces for low-income seniors by planting herbs and flowers for the residents to enjoy throughout the summer months. Sponsorships are also needed!

Special Sunday Celebration Assistants

Assist the Bronx House Jewish Community Center with decorating, serving food, set-up, and clean-up for special Sunday events that take place once a month. This can be a one-time opportunity, or you volunteer each month.

Event Assistance

The Jewish Association Serving the Aging needs volunteers to assist with serving dinner, and if possible stay for Spanish guitar entertainment after dinner.

Gardening in Westchester

For young professionals: join us to put your gardening skills to good use (or to learn some) at JBFCS's Mt. Vernon Residence. On Sunday, May 20, we will meet at Grand Central Terminal to take the Metro North together to Mt. Vernon in Westchester County. Once we arrive, we will work with the residents to clean and plant flower beds, create window boxes and planters, and to bring out the spring beauty!

This is a fun project that our residents look forward to each year.

Including transportation time, the project will last from 1:30 to 5:15 p.m.
