- Accessing information through people, paper, and online sources
- Identifying potential donors—individual, corporate, and foundation
- Segmenting your prospects for annual, major-gift, and planned-giving campaigns
- Assessing giving potential and determining donor interests
- Engaging volunteer leaders, current donors, and staff colleagues in the process

Stephen M. Levy, CFRE, is president of Levy Philanthropic Counsel, a nationally recognized firm providing services focusing on governance, fundraising campaigns, strategic planning, and stewardship. Stephen is past chair of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Foundation Board, first faculty member for Columbia University's Master of Science in Fundraising Management program, and founding director of philanthropy and external relations for the Gurwin Jewish Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
