For professionals and lay leaders.

Now more than ever, it is imperative to distinguish your agency's or program's stories from those of other organizations. Stories are a rich part of our tradition—personally and organizationally—and are an adaptable, universal, and economical resource. Stories support fundraising, marketing, branding, and building community.

In this session, offered on Long Island for the first time, participants will learn the key elements of an effective story; how to link stories to your organization's values, mission, and vision; and how to design and deliver stories using five key steps that yield results. In addition, you'll learn the basics of:

  • Identifying deep, powerful, mission-driven stories
  • Culling the key points you need to make an impact
  • Balancing facts and emotion
  • Incorporating the critical call to action
