Young Wall Street Briefing With Boaz Weinstein

Get involved and join hundreds of other law professionals dedicated to advancing UJA-Federation’s mission. We connect members of the legal profession to the important work of helping those in need while meeting the most influential leaders in the profession.

Setting the Bar

Participate in exclusive conversations with leaders in the legal profession and related fields at the Setting the Bar series. These events feature top attorneys discussing how they got to where they are today, and how community involvement and philanthropy complement their careers. Past guest speakers include Michael D. Fricklas, general counsel of Viacom; Kenneth Mehlman, global head of public affairs at Kohlberg Kravis and Roberts and former chair of the Republican National Committee; and Linda Fairstein, author and former chief of the Sex Crimes Prosecution Unit in the Office of the Manhattan District Attorney. This series is intended for attorneys in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s who contribute $1,000 or more to the 2011 Annual Campaign.

Community Events

Opportunities to engage with peers are tremendous, from the cross-trades dodgeball tournament to our elegant Young Lawyers After Dark celebration.

Volunteer Events

Experience our meaningful work firsthand by volunteering at one of UJA-Federation’s beneficiary agencies or spending quality time with people helped by UJA-Federation-funded programs. Several times a year, we arrange volunteer activities specifically for young lawyers, such as our annual Bowling Buddies Volunteer program. If you’re interested in lending a helping hand, please sign up.

Next Generation Bankruptcy

Senior associates and young partners interested in philanthropy can join the Next Generation Bankruptcy and Reorganization Group. Through volunteer projects and at programs featuring notable speakers, young professionals connect with like-minded peers and senior bankruptcy attorneys involved in UJA-Federation. Each year, the overall Bankruptcy and Reorganization Group hosts a not-to-be-missed event for bankruptcy attorneys in New York City that attracts more than a thousand attendees.

Leadership Committee

The governing body of the Young Lawyers Division meets five times a year and encompasses more than 45 young attorneys from throughout the legal field. Each member of the Leadership Committee makes a gift of at least $1,000 to UJA-Federation’s annual campaign.

Through their work on the Leadership Committee, members can:

  • Advance UJA-Federation’s crucial mission.
  • Engage with dynamic speakers.
  • Connect with other committee members.
  • Assume a leadership role in planning our programs and events.
