Join UJA’s Young Lawyers and Young Leaders divisions this February for Setting the Bar with Eric Olshan, former U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Eric will share his experience leading the prosecution of the 2018 Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, the deadliest antisemitic mass shooting in U.S. history.

Eric will offer an inside look into the law enforcement response, the impact on the victims and their families, and what this landmark case reveals about antisemitism in America today. You’ll also hear how UJA’s Community Security Initiative, created after the shooting, is strengthening its protection of Jewish institutions across New York.

Eric Olshan is a partner in the Government Investigations and White Collar Litigation Department at McGuireWoods LLP. Eric joined the firm following more than 17 years at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), where he most recently served as the United States attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, overseeing an office of approximately 130 prosecutors, civil litigators, and professional staff.
