Monday, November 11, 2019: Private tour of Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away.
Sunday, November 24, 2019: Meet with Holocaust survivors and hear their stories
Teens in high school are invited to participate in a special two-part Holocaust education program this November. First, on Monday, November 11, you’ll visit Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place, New York City, to take a private tour of its powerful landmark exhibit, Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away., before it leaves the museum in January.
Then, on Sunday, November 24, you’ll meet and hear from actual survivors at the Shames JCC on the Hudson in Westchester, 371 South Broadway, Tarrytown.
By exploring the past and the present, you’ll preserve the legacy of survivors to ensure a strong future in which their memory is never forgotten. You’ll also discover the work UJA does to support the 40,000 survivors living in New York with home care, meals, and social opportunities.
Please note: by registering, you are committing to attend both events. Parents must authorize their children’s travel to both sites.
