This primary season, it’s more important than ever to understand who’s running to be NYC’s next mayor.

Join UJA and JCRC for a town hall with the leading Democratic mayoral candidates focusing on issues of critical concern to the New York Jewish community and the future of the city.


UJA-Federation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and as such may not oppose or support any candidate for elective public office.

Andrew M. Cuomo

Andrew Cuomo

Andrew M. Cuomo served as the 56th Governor of New York State. Born in Queens and raised in an Italian-American family, Cuomo is a graduate of Fordham University and Albany Law School. He began his career working on his father’s gubernatorial campaign and later served as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan.

Cuomo founded Housing Enterprise for the Less Privileged (HELP) in 1986, an organization dedicated to addressing homelessness. Brad Lander

Brad Lander is a New York City public official and candidate for Mayor. A lifelong Brooklyn resident, Lander has spent his career working on issues affecting working-class communities.

Lander served as the New York City Comptroller, where he focused on holding government accountable and protecting taxpayer dollars. Prior to that, he was a City Council member, where he passed legislation to protect workers, improve affordable housing, and increase public transit funding.

Zohran Mamdani

Zohran Kwame Mamdani is a New York State Assemblymember and candidate for Mayor. Born in Uganda and raised in New York City, Mamdani advocates for issues affecting working-class residents.

In the Assembly, Mamdani has supported measures that secured over $450 million in debt relief for taxi drivers and more than $100 million in the state budget for expanded subway service. He has also led efforts to oppose a proposed power plant.
