The Jack and Shirley Silver Hub gives vulnerable New Yorkers a one-stop shop of social services, including employment training and placement, access to a digital food pantry, financial and legal services, and a way out of poverty.

• Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY) serves as the primary community relations agency for the Jewish community in the metropolitan New York area. As an active force in New York civic and communal life, JCRC-NY operates as a central coordinating and resource body to be a common table to cultivate understanding and joint action among diverse groups within the Jewish community; cultivate deeper relationships with the broader New York community to address critical issues and engender a shared society; ensure the security of the Jewish community in the face of rising antisemitism; and foster increased understanding and appreciation for the Jewish community’s relationship with Israel among diverse groups of New Yorkers. Through its community relations efforts, JCRC-NY strengthens existing partnerships and builds new relationships with diverse leaders in our city to advance the values, interests, and security of the New York Jewish community and build a more interconnected New York for all.

Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty

• Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty assists 325,000 New Yorkers in need annually by combating poverty and food insecurity, as well as serving immigrants, seniors living on fixed incomes, and the un- and underemployed through comprehensive social services. Met Council is UJA’s primary partner in kosher and halal food distribution. This visit includes Met Council’s biggest day of service in advance of their Passover distribution efforts.
