Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY)

• The Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY) serves as the primary community relations agency for the Jewish community in the metropolitan New York area. An active force in New York civic and communal life, JCRC-NY operates as a central coordinating and resource body to cultivate understanding and joint action among diverse groups within the Jewish community, grow deeper relationships with the broader New York community to address critical issues and engender a shared society, ensure the security of the Jewish community in the face of rising antisemitism, and foster increased understanding and appreciation for the Jewish community’s relationship with Israel among diverse groups of New Yorkers. Through its community relations efforts, JCRC-NY strengthens existing partnerships and builds new relationships with diverse leaders in our city to advance the values, interests, and security of the New York Jewish community and build a more interconnected New York for all.

Met Council Brooklyn Hub

• Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty assists 325,000 New Yorkers in need annually by combating poverty and food insecurity, as well as serving immigrants, seniors living on fixed incomes, and the unemployed and underemployed through comprehensive social services. Met Council is UJA’s primary partner in kosher and halal food distribution. The newly opened Brooklyn Hub, in partnership with UJA, provides vulnerable New Yorkers with a one-stop shop for social services, including access to an onsite food pantry using an innovative online ordering system, financial and legal services, career readiness programs, mental health support, crisis intervention, and access to other UJA-supported agencies.  All of these services are offered with cultural competency in a way that upholds the dignity of each person who walks through the Hub’s doors.
