This Hanukkah, join friends and neighbors in Western Queens for a week of events and festivities as we celebrate the Festival of Lights. With lots of fun, welcoming activities for the whole family, we’re sure you’ll find ways to come together in your community.

Adamah
Adamah NY is the New York Hub of Adamah, the largest Jewish environmental organization in North America. In collaboration with Malkhut, Wandering Jews of Astoria, and Astoria Center of Israel, Adamah NY will bring an environmental lens to the celebration of Hanukkah. Join us for a variety of events from an oil tasting and learning for adults to a Hanukkah crafting for all ages.

Ashreynu
Welcome to Ashreynu, Astoria’s newest pluralistic, joyful, creative Jewish community. Kick off Hanukkah with a community lighting and hot cocoa at a  local Astoria park followed by an afterparty with Lost Amsterdam at a local neighborhood bar; join our community-wide celebration with a hot latke toppings bar, specialty drinks, and Jewish Makers Market, and close out the Hanukkah weekend with Blue Shabbat featuring music, Tkiya for kids, a festive Kiddush lunch, and an afternoon arts workshop.

Astoria Center of Israel
Astoria Center of Israel, a historic synagogue in Western Queens celebrating its 100th year, invites you to join our Hanukkah events in Astoria! Enjoy a holiday themed puppet show at a local beer garden, craft brews and candle lighting at a neighborhood brewery, and a Hanukah Pajamakah Party with music and movement from Tkiya.

JCC Chabad LIC
Chabad LIC is a vibrant hub for Jewish life in Western Queens, offering meaningful, inclusive programs for all ages. This Hanukkah, join us for “Brews & Bonds” — a festive evening for Jewish adults featuring local craft beer, menorah lighting, music, and an inspiring Israel Bonds presentation.

Malkhut
Join us for a mindfulness event and an intergenerational Hanukkah party. All ages are invited to join Malkhut and our partners at Adamah, PJ Library, and Wandering Jews of Astoria for an afternoon in LIC filled with Hanukkah-themed games, crafts, and singing. We'll light our chanukiot (Hanukkah menorahs) and enjoy a special olive oil tasting and delicious fried food!

Sons of Israel
Your friendly neighborhood shul in Astoria invites you to celebrate the Festival of Lights with us! From karaoke to tabletop games to story time, with latkes and doughnuts at hand - come sing, play, laugh, spread warmth, and light up the night together!

Tkiya creates joyful Jewish connection through participatory music experiences. We're excited to bring the light of Hanukkah to Western Queens in collaboration with PJ Library with our fun and interactive event full of singing, movement, storytelling, puppets, food, crafts, and more.

Young Israel of Sunnyside
Hanukkah Under the Train is a public “special Hanukkah surprise” flash mob style celebration under the train platform plaza with community menorah lighting, sufganiyot, and latkes. Hanukkah Pop-Up held at a local college is aimed at getting college students involved in celebrating Hanukkah with raffle prizes, sufganiyot, and latkes.
