Our Impact

  • UJA supports nonprofits on Long Island that each play a significant role in the Jewish community and social service network of our county.

  • The Barry and Florence Friedberg JCC, The Marion and Aaron Gural JCC, the Mid-Island Y JCC, Sid Jacobson JCC, and Suffolk Y JCC each have a robust array of activities for the entire age spectrum.

  • The Jewish Community Relations Council advocates for the rights, interests, and values of the New York Jewish community.

  • Gurwin Jewish Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Jewish Association Serving the Aging (JASA), and Parker Jewish Institute for Healthcare and Rehabilitation provide care to meet the evolving needs of people as they age.

  • Selfhelp Community Services, Inc. is the largest provider of comprehensive services to Holocaust survivors in North America.

  • Hofstra University Hillel and Stony Brook Hillel support students on campus. And BBYO involves teens in meaningful Jewish experiences to help build Jewish identity and develop leadership skills.

  • The Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds are home to the summer camps run by JCCs and serve families from all over Long Island.

Breaking New Ground

After a school year that’s been like no other, kids are looking to have some fun in the sun, get cool in a pool, and hang with friends — in person and off their screens. Camp is where it all begins. Here’s how UJA and the 25 day and overnight camps we support are breaking out new ways for kids to let good times roll this summer — safely.
