Yom HaShoah, Yom HaZikaron, and Yom Ha'Atzmaut

Israel’s National Holidays

Commemorate. Honor. Celebrate.

Join UJA-Federation, our nonprofit partners, and your fellow New Yorkers as we mark these important days with purpose and gratitude. We’ll also demonstrate our enduring solidarity with the Israeli people, who are once again in the line of fire. With global tension and rising antisemitism weighing heavily on our community, coming together feels more meaningful than ever.

Yom HaShoah

Holocaust Remembrance Day

Monday night, April 13 – Tuesday, April 14, 2026

Yom HaShoah honors those lost in the Holocaust and the resilience of survivors. UJA provides compassionate, life-affirming care to Holocaust survivors, helping ensure dignity, comfort, and support in their later years. As the survivor population ages, this work grows more urgent.

Yom HaZikaron

Israel’s Memorial Day

Monday night, April 20 – Tuesday, April 21, 2026

Yom HaZikaron honors Israel’s fallen soldiers and victims of terror. In a country so small, the trauma of loss is widely felt. UJA provides critical support during times of war, aiding displaced communities, caring for injured soldiers and families, and strengthening trauma services to help individuals and communities cope, recover, and rebuild in the face of ongoing challenges.

Yom Ha’Atzmaut celebrates the founding of Israel and the promise of a Jewish democratic state.
