Connecting women living in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Queens. We are a powerhouse community of philanthropic leaders and communal organizers with a passion for the State of Israel and sustaining Jewish values. We’re proud of our programming which focuses on Israel education, celebrating Jewish learning and art, site visits, and lifting the voices of Jewish authors.

Whether on the North Shore, South Shore, or out East, Long Island Women is an integral part of UJA’s Long Island office in Syosset. Long Island Women have their hand in everything — volunteering at the S.H.O.P. food pantry at the Marion & Aaron Gural JCC, attending book and art programs, and celebrating homegrown powerhouse women at Spring Event are just a few of the ways LI Women connect with philanthropy and each other.

East Side, West Side... you know the rest. UJA’s Manhattan Women is the largest single community of women in the UJA system. With over 80 programs each year, we’ll keep you busy — book events, Judaic studies, art events, theater excursions, panel discussions with thought leaders — we take full advantage of the cultural richness of the city.

UJA Women give time and give back. We can volunteer on our own, with our friends and families, or with our large and loving community — in person or online. The possibilities are endless. So is the need.

Look out for our emails sharing specific opportunities as they are scheduled throughout the year. In the meantime, there are ongoing volunteer opportunities with our network of nonprofit partners. Help stock food pantries, deliver meals to homebound seniors, and more.

You can also create your own custom volunteer project around something you care deeply about, like collecting and packing period products or school supplies for those in need. And if you’re about to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or family simcha, our Mitzvahs and Milestones program allows you to connect a life cycle event with a social action project.

There are so many ways to make a difference. Questions? Contact Andrea Gingold for more information.

Our giving societies recognize women who have reached philanthropic milestones at UJA. Each level offers extraordinary programs, high-level briefings, and exclusive travel opportunities.

Whether you are making a gift in your own name or are the philanthropic influencer in your household, we are grateful for your generosity.

A gift of $6,000 to UJA’s annual campaign distinguishes you as a NY Lion. Not only will you be counted as one of our most significant donors in New York, you will also join more than 18,000 women from 100+ local Jewish Federations around the globe, a multinational community known as the International Lions of Judah (ILOJ). And if you want, you can showcase your commitment with a very special piece of jewelry — the iconic Lion of Judah pin. How great is that?
