The Mid-Island Y JCC provides vital services and fosters Jewish identity, personal growth, family strength, and community. The Y continues to support children and families that have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis through several essential services. Help the Y continue its efforts to support underprivileged children in the community through the following initiatives:
- Candlewishes for Kids: Create a birthday in a bag that will enable a child to celebrate at home. Bag should include: cake mix, frosting, candles, cake plates, napkins and a birthday card. An added bonus can be an art activity, game or gift card. Bags will be distributed to children in programs that support underserved communities.
- Summer Activity Packages: Create packages for kids that are from under-served communities and need activities during the summer. Volunteers should provide the supplies and instructions for an activity which is then placed in a large Ziploc bag that can be distributed to kids ages 5-15. Store bought activity sets are also wonderful.
- Kindness Rocks: Share some kindness with others! Find a rock and paint a kind or inspiring message and then donate it to the Rudman Family Food pantry to be distributed to those receiving assistance.
