Our Annual Lions Lunch is on November 13, and this year, we are honoring three women whose impact within the UJA community has been drastic. Judy Baum’s kindness, pureness of heart, and overwhelming generosity through UJA and scores of other charities has impacted so many lives, not only for the Jewish community but throughout the world. Her work is a reflection of her passion to drive good and inspire others to do the same. As a Lion of Judah, with Judy leading the way not just for me but for so many, I am proud to be a part of recognizing all that she has done and continues to do. It is my biggest honor to call her my cherished friend.

I lead our community in being so proud of my dear friend Staci Barber. Staci has chosen an admirable life of exemplary giving to others, in both her personal and philanthropic endeavors. Staci is as dedicated to her family as she is to her commitment to those less fortunate than she, most notably offering comfort and support to Holocaust survivors. Staci's ability to engage others is her superpower. Her enthusiastic approach encourages others to share her passions. The SPIRIT OF PEGGY award represents everything Staci embodies. Sometimes in life you come across people who are not only great friends, but also great philanthropic leaders. I am fortunate to know Beth in both of these roles, but especially thrilled to see her honored for the latter. Her dedication to supporting our Jewish community, both at home and abroad, is meaningful to so many. Through her UJA board leadership, NYL Cabinet work, and JFNA missions, she has been a force. Beth is inspiring, dedicated, and always stepping up to shine light wherever it’s needed.
