UJA-Federation of New York

Good together.

UJA-Federation believes in the power of kehillah — community — because we do more good when we come together than we could do alone. Our goal is to engage more LGBTQ Jews, individuals and families, in an inviting and compelling Jewish community, so we can all find within it meaning, inspiration, and purpose.

Through UJAPride, we welcome you to participate in:

  • Social gatherings, celebrations, and events
  • Educational briefings about issues facing our community
  • Hands-on community service
  • Pride mission trips to Israel
  • Leadership opportunities at UJA-Federation and within our agencies

We’re building a record of service to the LGBTQ community and raising up LGBTQ issues.

We fund programs that directly address LGBTQ individuals, and support organizations that create targeted programming and raise awareness of LGBTQ concerns. These programs and services include: individual and group counseling and support, educational opportunities, social events, legal assistance, services for gay and lesbian older adults, and youth programs.

Agencies in UJA-Federation’s network with LGBTQ programming include:
Hazon/Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center
Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services
The Jewish Community Center in Manhattan
Jewish Home Lifecare
Mid-Island Y Jewish Community Center
New York Legal Assistance Group
Samuel Field Y and Central Queens Y
Westchester Jewish Community Services
Westchester Jewish Council
YM & YMHA of Washington Heights & Inwood

Grants made to these organizations and others, directly serve the LGBTQ community:
Congregation Beit Simchat Torah
Jerusalem Open House
Mosaic of Westchester
