Every child deserves a shot at success, and especially given the difficulties of the past year, a new school year should be a fresh start no matter a child's background or level of family income. Yet many children from underserved communities start school without the basic supplies they need: paper, pencils, binders, and notebooks. UJA is proud to work in conjunction with Supplies for Success, an important partner in our network of nonprofits, to ensure that each child has the tools to succeed in the classroom. The backpack drive and packing event will support our Annual Back to School Drive led by our nonprofit partner Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS). Together we’ll make sure that no family has to choose between paying their electric bill or buying school supplies.
A donation of $27 will fill one backpack. Please register for the packing event and purchase as many backpacks as you can. Grandparents are welcome, too!
Can’t make it, but want to make an impact? Donate here.
