Scott Greenstein is the president and chief content officer for SiriusXM, whose platforms collectively reach approximately 150 million listeners, making it the largest digital audio audience across paid and free tiers in North America. Since Scott joined the company in 2004, he has pioneered new forms of audio programming, signed major talent and brands to SiriusXM platforms, and expanded SiriusXM’s programming lineup to include more than 300 channels that deliver an unparalleled selection of ad-free music, plus sports, news, comedy, talk, and entertainment.
Scott leads SiriusXM’s expansion into podcasting, overseeing content on the podcast platform Stitcher, while also striking major agreements with podcast creators and talent including Marvel Entertainment, Tom Brady, and Crime Junkie, and managing the growing slate of original and critically acclaimed SiriusXM original podcast series. Scott also leads a dedicated content team at Pandora focused on creating a wide variety of original streaming music and talk programming for Pandora listeners.
Under Scott’s leadership, SiriusXM has pioneered exclusive artist-branded audio channels, including The Beatles Channel, Eminem’s Shade 45, and Kenny Chesney’s No Shoes Radio. Scott has also led the company’s signing of talent and content partners, including Howard Stern, Kevin Hart, Drake, and brands such as TikTok and Netflix.
Scott has established long-term agreements to create original and exclusive channels with major sports brands including the NFL, MLB, NASCAR, the NBA, the NHL, the PGA TOUR, Formula 1 and ESPN. He has overseen the growth of SiriusXM’s original sports programming that now features more than a dozen exclusive 24/7 channels and has been instrumental in building new and expanded programming channels such as Doctor Radio Powered by NYU Langone Medical Center and The Catholic Channel, in partnership with the Archdiocese of New York.
Last year, Scott launched SiriusXM and Pandora’s Small Stage Series, heldLast year, Scott launched SiriusXM and Pandora’s Small Stage Series, held in smaller iconic venues throughout the country, and featuring performances by artists spanning music genres and styles, and comedy. Small Stage Series headliners have included Alicia Keys, Brandi Carlile, Coldplay, Dave Matthews, Ed Sheeran, among many others. He has also staged a series of exclusive SiriusXM subscriber concert events featuring legendary talent such as Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, U2, and Lady Gaga, and, as well as newcomers who got their first airplay on SiriusXM, including Florida Georgia Line, Halsey, Billie Eilish, and Lewis Capaldi.
Prior to SiriusXM, Scott served as chairman of USA Films. During his tenure, the studio released numerous award-winning films, including Steven Soderbergh's Traffic, Spike Jonze’s Being John Malkovich, and Robert Altman’s Gosford Park.
Scott is perennially recognized as one of the top executives in Billboard’s “Power 100” and Variety 500 power lists and has received numerous honors. Scott was honored by LIFEbeat in 2006, awarded the First Knight of the Royal Order of the Polar Star by the king of Sweden in 2009, and received Cynopsis Sports Media’s Legacy Award in 2018.
