Dr. Michael Hartal has been the executive director of the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute since 2017, and is also a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. A public health physician, he has spent most of his career strengthening population health practice and policy in the public service. Before coming to MJB, Dr. Hartal served in the Israel Ministry of Health and as a medical officer in the Israel Defense Forces for over 20 years.
Dr. David L. Reich was named president of The Mount Sinai Hospital in 2013 and was chair of anesthesiology from 2004 to 2014. He has served on numerous hospital, school, and health system committees and has had his work published in multiple articles, editorials, and book chapters.
Dr. Bruce Rosen is the director of the Smokler Center for Health Policy Research at the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute and a professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Dr. Rosen founded the health division at the Institute, and his research focuses on a variety of topics such as vulnerable populations and the evaluation of major national policy changes.
As executive vice president and chief administrative and financial officer of the Greater New York Hospital Association, Lee H. Perlman is a promotor of diversity in healthcare leadership and works to build the bridge between business and science within healthcare management and procurement. Mr. Perlman is chair of the UJA Healthcare Division, sits on UJA’s Board of Directors, and serves as treasurer at Commonpoint Queens.
Jodi Schwartz is a partner at the law firm of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where she is the chair of the firm’s tax department. A dedicated lay leader, Jodi is currently a member UJA’s Executive Committee and has held leadership positions on numerous organizational committees. She has also served on the boards of multiple partner agencies such as the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), where she is currently the chair of the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Committee.
