Join UJA for an inspiring evening and reception with acclaimed author, journalist, and fierce advocate for Israel, Melanie Phillips.

In her new book, The Builder’s Stone, Melanie discusses the moral and cultural challenges facing the West in this post October 7 landscape. Together, we’ll explore how the unique survival of Judaism throughout history, together with Israel’s resilience and moral clarity, can guide the West in staying true to its core values during a time of global conflict.

You’ll also learn more about UJA’s ongoing support in Israel, as the country continues to heal and rebuild.

Each attendee will receive a signed copy of The Builder’s Stone.

This event is part of UJA's WordsMatter series and is hosted by Interboro Women.

Author and Journalist

Melanie is a public commentator, journalist, author, and columnist for The Times of London, The Jerusalem Post, and The Jewish Chronicle.

She was educated at Putney High School in London. Later, she read English at St. Anne’s College, Oxford.

Melanie has a passionate and growing following on Twitter/X.

Her most recent book, The Builder’s Stone: How Jews and Christians Built the West — and Why Only They Can Save It, was published in January 2025.

Melanie lives in Jerusalem with her husband.
