UJA @ KJ

Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun and UJA-Federation of New York are longtime partners in doing good. That means that together, we powerfully impact the issues that matter the most to our greater community.

Right now, we’re doubling down on the institutions and experiences that make Jewish life vibrant and joyful. At a time when antisemitism is increasingly pervasive, strengthening Jewish life is as essential as protecting it — and we’re doing both. Our Community Security Initiative already safeguards 3,400 institutions across New York and 33 northeastern universities, with new partnerships underway.

In Israel, we’re helping communities rebuild and investing in innovative approaches to trauma and recovery. We’re caring for aging Holocaust survivors around the world with compassion and dignity. And here in New York, we’re expanding support for vulnerable families as changing government benefits create new challenges — connecting low-income New Yorkers with critical services and meeting growing demand through our digital food pantries.

There’s a lot of work to do. But together, and thanks to the generosity of the KJ community, we know we can meet this moment. We always have.

Explore what your gift can make possible:

  • $3,600 can sponsor a semester of Jewish learning for up to 10 students
  • $1,800 can provide approximately 12 individual therapy sessions for lone soldiers in Israel coping with trauma
  • $1,000 can provide a bulletproof vest for a security volunteer at a Jewish school, synagogue, or community center that has recently been the target of an antisemitic attack
  •  $500 can provide seven Holocaust survivors with enough food for a month's worth of nourishing meals
  • $360 can provide a scholarship for a Russian-speaking Jewish family to participate in a B'nai Mitzvah Family Journey Program
  • $180 can allow five low-income children in New York to participate in an afterschool class
