This event welcomes women who give $500 or more, individually or as a family, to UJA-Federation's 2025 Annual Campaign.

Join us for Spring Event to connect with friends and celebrate our honorees, Mona Gora Sterling and Lindsay Shapses, for their generosity and commitment to the community. Our guest speaker, Tovah Feldshuh, will share how her Judaism has played a starring role in all aspects of her life – personal, professional, and philanthropic.

We’ll also hear about UJA’s powerful work healing and rebuilding Israel, confronting the sharp rise in antisemitism, and helping New Yorkers of all backgrounds here at home.

Mona Gora Sterling

Business Leader Award

Mona is a natural entrepreneur. She spent 16 years in the garment industry as vice president and co-owner of a lifestyle apparel company before shifting her focus in 1995 to real estate. She now runs Golden Lioness Corp., a fully integrated property investment, management, and development firm.
 
Alongside her husband, David Sterling, Mona brings the same energy and business acumen to numerous charitable organizations. Mona is a UJA Lion of Judah and received the Joseph Gurwin Humanitarian Award. Lindsay Shapses

Rising Leader Award
 
Lindsay’s passion for Jewish organizations derives from her grandparents, who were Holocaust survivors. They taught her the importance of Jewish traditions, building a strong Jewish identity, and helping those in need.  Lindsay is a dedicated leader within UJA Long Island and a proud Lion of Judah. She and her husband, Alex, have played key roles in engaging the next generation of supporters, serving as dinner chairs for the North Shore Inaugural and actively encouraging younger members of Glen Oaks Club to get involved.
