The World Our Children Walk Through
June 25th, 2026

What does antisemitism take from you?

For moms of children who move through the world visibly Jewish, it robs you of a sense of ease. I know, because every time my teenage son goes to the movies, or the mall, or a basketball game wearing his kippah, I worry. When he goes to school or plays basketball at the JCC, I worry.

The threat of hate follows you around and casts a dark shadow onto ordinary moments.

And for me, the personal is professional. As a writer for UJA, I often tell the story of our work protecting our greater community, advocating for government security funding, and weaving connection and pride into the tapestry of a rich and vibrant Jewish life. It’s meaningful work brought home for me as a Jewish mom every day.

If it’s work that resonates with you as a parent, a community member, or simply someone who believes in the promise of a world safe for proud Jews, you might like to know that your generosity helps strengthen our work on this critical front.

And together, we can make sure that whatever hate takes from you, it doesn’t get to keep.

Tova Cohen is UJA’s Assistant Director of Content Development.
