UJA Action 2
Urge Mayor Mamdani
to Sign the Buffer Bills.
OUR COMMUNITIES NEED PROTECTION.
Thanks to strong advocacy from our community, the New York City Council passed two critical public safety bills to protect safe access to houses of worship and schools. Both bills passed with broad support, reflecting just how real and urgent the need is for stronger safeguards around the spaces where New Yorkers pray, learn, and gather.
But the work isn't done yet. UJA Action advocates worked hard to help move these bills through the Council, and that advocacy made a difference. We are now calling on Mayor Mamdani to sign these two bills — and he needs to hear directly from New Yorkers that they matter.
These bills would help ensure that people can enter houses of worship and schools without fear of intimidation, harassment, or obstruction. At a time when concerns about safety remain high for communities of faith and for families across the city, signing these bills into law is a critical next step.
Our advocacy helped get these bills through the City Council. Now we need your voice. Join us in urging Mayor Mamdani to sign Intro 0001-2026 and Intro 0175-2026 into law and help get these protections over the finish line.
