Time is not on the side of survivors. Each day, their numbers grow smaller. Those who remain face mounting challenges: frailty, loneliness, poverty, and the return of antisemitism they once fought so hard to escape. For years, UJA’s Community Initiative for Holocaust Survivors (CIHS) has provided life-affirming care to survivors in New York and Israel. Now, we are at a turning point.
If we don’t act with urgency, we will lose the chance to stand with survivors in their final years. That’s why we have set an ambitious goal of raising $5 million a year for CIHS for the next five years. This $25 million campaign will ensure that we fulfill our sacred promise to care for survivors so they can live out their lives with dignity, comfort, and peace.
