Unique elements of the seder will include songs in Yiddish and Ladino, readings from contemporary Jewish writers and poets, and opportunities for community participation. The history and meaning of additions to the seder plate rooted in Jewish feminism and social justice movements will also be discussed. As an LGBTQ+ synagogue, CBST will intentionally connect the story of the Exodus to LGBTQ+ history and to ongoing struggles for liberation in our country and around the world, offering a spiritually rich and educational experience grounded in ritual, learning, and shared community.
