They work side by side with our professional staff to address todayโ€™s most pressing problems and plan for tomorrow.

AMY A. B. BRESSMAN

President

Deeply committed to the Jewish people her entire life, Amy believes that taking an active role in shaping the Jewish future is both a responsibility and an opportunity. Amy has served in a number of positions at UJA during her longstanding involvement. Most recently, before becoming President, she focused on Jewish identity and next-generation engagement, and was Chair of the Jewish Life Department.

Her earlier UJA involvement included being on the Executive Committee of Business and Professional Women and the National Womenโ€™s Young Leadership Cabinet. During that time, she founded the New York Young Couples Division and was honored with the Leadership Development Divisionโ€™s Humanitarian Service Award.

Amy has held a number of leadership positions at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, including serving on its Executive Committee. She has served as chair of the Board of Trustees of the Town School and vice chair of National Hillel, and is a graduate of the Wexner-Heritage Program.

A proud native of Wichita, Kansas, Amy previously had a career at IBM in marketing. She and her husband, Robert, have three children: Will (and Lindsay), Teddy (and Ali), Ellie (and Matthew), and four grandchildren. She currently lives in Manhattan.

DAVID L. MOORE

Chair of the Board

David has held a variety of leadership positions over his decade-long involvement with UJA, most recently co-chairing the annual campaign. Heโ€™s passionate about improving the lives of fellow New Yorkers and strengthening the Jewish community.

Professionally, David is chairman and CEO of Moore Holdings, which invests in and manages a variety of private companies, and is a partner in Sonostar Ventures, LLC, an investor in start-ups and public securities.

Over the years, David has served on UJAโ€™s Executive Committee, Board of Directors, as well as the Finance and Allocations Steering committees. He is a member of UJAโ€™s Wall Street Strategic Council and co-chaired the Private Equity Division. David has had longstanding involvement with The Jewish Board, and was the 2019 recipient of their Saul Z. Cohen Leadership Award. He is also committed to a wide range of educational, social service, and communal organizations, including the City Parks Foundation, Central Synagogue, and Amherst College.

David believes in sharing the importance and scope of UJAโ€™s impact with all New Yorkers. As a speaker who knows how to hold an audience, David has appeared as a professional stand-up comedian. Heโ€™s also a minority owner of the Atlanta Hawks NBA team. He lives in Manhattan with his wife, Lori, and their two children.
