Grants of $5,000 or higher will support up to 200 students attending Jewish day schools and yeshivot in the five boroughs of New York City and Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties.
The scholarship funds, which are in addition to many other UJA-Federation educational initiatives, will be given directly to Jewish day schools and yeshivot to distribute as financial aid. Interested students and families should contact their school or yeshiva regarding their educational institution’s application procedures for this scholarship.
Although schools can nominate students already enrolled in day schools who demonstrate financial need, UJA-Federation is encouraging schools to give priority to students without significant formal training in Judaic studies who transfer to Jewish day school, as well as to students entering a Jewish high school.
