The persistent and violent anti-Semitic attacks on Jews in the New York area has reached a crisis level with yet another week of multiple hate-fueled incidents.

The Jewish community is grateful to the NYPD for its dedication and professionalism in pursuing the perpetrators of these crimes, but more must be done.

We call on religious and political leaders from across the spectrum to loudly and unequivocally denounce these attacks. As New Yorkers, we know that the perpetrators represent a small fringe element of our society, but we have also learned that a fringe can do serious damage and that hatred left unchecked only grows.
