UJC works to preserve and stabilize the Lower East Side of Manhattan community through the provision of a wide range of human services and community development programs. With families fraying, spread out, or non-existent, a substantial portion of long-time residents of the Lower East Side doesn’t have family they can count on for the help they need. UJC fills that gap with services such as home health care aides, food assistance programs, social services, and senior centers.
Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday from 9:30AM-12PM to deliver food packages to homebound seniors living on the Lower East Side. There is also an opportunity to work in the food pantry once per month on delivery days. Those interested should contact Daniel Valentino at (212) 475-3857 for more information. PPE and sanitation supplies will be provided on site.*
