April 3, 2023 (NEW YORK, NY) -- UJA-Federation of New York is bringing back the perennial fan favorite #MatzahChallenge – spreading culinary matzah fun while sharing Jewish pride for Passover.
From April 3 to 13, for every post uploaded to social media using the hashtag #MatzahChallenge, a generous donor will give $18 to support UJA’s vital work combating antisemitism and more. This is an opportunity to show off delicious and creative matzah recipes, from matzah pizza to creative chocolate matzah desserts and more.
Here’s how you do the #MatzahChallenge:
Create: Put together a meal or snack with matzah (e.g. avocado matzah toast or matzah brittle)
Snap: Take a photo or a video of your matzah creation
Post: Use the hashtag #MatzahChallenge and upload your matzah to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or Twitter between April 3 and April 13
Nominate: Tag a friend to participate in the challenge
The #MatzahChallenge launched in 2018 and has since become a fun and interactive tradition for celebrities and influencers, including Jake Cohen, Melinda Strauss, Mike Solomonov, Andrew Zimmern, Eitan Bernath, Einat Admony, Michael Twitty, Lizzy Savetsky, and more.
Details about the #MatzahChallenge can be found at https://www.ujafedny.org/matzah-challenge.
All-New UJA Swag Sweepstakes: This year, you can enter to win a Passover swag bag that features matzah-themed kitchen gear. From matzah-decorated oven mitts to a “kosher for Passover” mug, this is your chance to show off during your seder.
Seder guide: UJA’s “Find A Seder” program is back this year with several community meals, both in-person and virtual, throughout New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County. The “Find A Seder” program is available at ujafedny.org/find-a-seder.
